The “Ahwazi national conference” calls for official arab recognition of the state of Ahwaz and Its inclusion in the league of arab states
The Executive Committee of the State of Ahwaz held its annual conference on Saturday, April 18, 2026, under the title “The Ahwazi National Conference,” coinciding with the commemoration of the anniversary of 1925, the date that Ahwazi national forces consider the beginning of the “Iranian occupation” of the Arab state overlooking the Arabian Gulf.
Arab and International Mobilization to Support Historical Rights
The conference witnessed notable attendance from Arab political figures, academics, and prominent international activists, all of whom agreed in their speeches on the necessity of shedding light on the “justice of the Ahwazi cause.”
The participants expressed their full solidarity with the political and civil aspirations of the Ahwazi people, stressing that the stability of the region is closely linked to recognizing the national rights of the non-Persian peoples in Iran, foremost among them the Arab people in Ahwaz.
Calls for Joining Regional Organizations
In a strategic move, the conference called on decision-makers in Arab capitals to adopt firmer and clearer positions regarding the issue of Ahwazi sovereignty.
The participants demanded the initiation of procedures for the official recognition of the State of Ahwaz and serious efforts to include it as an active member within regional and international organizations, foremost among them the League of Arab States, considering it an inseparable part of the Arab national fabric and the eastern protective wall of the nation.
The Diplomacy of “Mobilizing Support” and Sovereignty
The speeches and final statements of the conference emphasized the importance of intensifying diplomatic and media efforts to move the issue from its narrow regional framework to the broader international arena.
The Executive Committee stressed that strengthening the Arab presence in international forums to support the historical rights of Ahwaz is a “national duty” that contributes to protecting shared Arab national security.
The conference concluded with a statement in which the participants affirmed that the “Arab identity of Ahwaz” is a historical reality that cannot be erased, and that the struggle of the Ahwazi people to restore their sovereignty and independent state will continue through all available legal and political means.
The holding of this conference comes amid rapidly evolving geopolitical changes in the region, as the Executive Committee of the Arab State of Ahwaz seeks through these platforms to mobilize regional support and place the Ahwazi issue among the priorities of joint Arab action.
