Iranian Occupation Authorities Arrest Dozens of Ahwazis in Ma’shour

On the centenary of the occupation of Ahwaz, Iranian occupation forces continued their crackdown on the Arab Ahwazi people. The occupation police in the city of Ma’shour announced the arrest of 53 individuals, citing alleged enforcement of judicial rulings.

The Iranian authorities have been carrying out widespread arrest campaigns against the Arab Ahwazi population, fearing the outbreak of large-scale protests on the anniversary of the occupation of Ahwaz.

According to human rights sources, since December, Iranian occupation security forces have arrested dozens of Ahwazi citizens. They have also summoned hundreds of others to the intelligence headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard (News Base 114) and the Ministry of Intelligence (News Base 113), subjecting them to interrogations.

Earlier, Iranian occupation authorities announced the arrest of Ahwazi citizens under accusations of espionage for a Gulf state, reflecting the atmosphere of fear and paranoia within the occupation in Ahwaz.
