The hidden dimensions of the Iranian scheme in Kuwait: from Hezbollah cells to revolutionary guard infiltration

In an extremely dangerous security development that places the region on a powder keg, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior today revealed details regarding the completion of investigations into the “Bubiyan Infiltrators” case, confirming that the group arrested on the third of this May was not merely a smuggling gang, but rather a unit affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that was carrying out a direct hostile mission.

The Kuwaiti announcement comes to connect the threads of the conspiracy whose features began to emerge since the beginning of 2026, as Kuwait transformed into an open arena of confrontation where the threads of systematic conspiracies managed from Tehran and its regional arm, the Lebanese Hezbollah, intersect.

“Bubiyan” Confessions: Direct Military Infiltration In continuation of the statement issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior announced that the four infiltrators who attempted to enter the country by sea admitted during investigations to their official affiliation with the Revolutionary Guard.

The investigations revealed that the group included officers of high ranks, among them colonels, who infiltrated Bubiyan Island aboard a rented fishing boat used as camouflage.

The objective was not merely reconnaissance; rather, the mission included deployment and engagement, which indeed occurred when the group confronted the Kuwaiti armed forces, resulting in the injury of one Kuwaiti serviceman.

This transition from “covert operations” through proxies to “direct military intervention” represents a dangerous precedent and a blatant violation of Kuwaiti sovereignty and international norms.

Dismantling the “Terror Cluster”: Three Cells in One Month While the maritime borders were aflame, security agencies inside the country were waging a no less fierce war against “sleeper cells” that had been activated under external directives.

During March 2026 alone, the Ministry of Interior succeeded in dismantling three cells linked to the banned Hezbollah: In the second week of March, when the spokesman for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Nasser Bouslib, announced that security agencies had succeeded in uncovering and arresting a terrorist group belonging to the banned Hezbollah organization, investigations revealed an organized sabotage plot aimed at undermining Kuwait’s sovereignty, destabilizing the country, and spreading chaos,This cell included 14 Kuwaiti citizens and two Lebanese nationals.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior also announced the arrest of the second Revolutionary Guard cell, the “Drone Cell,” which included 10 citizens who had received training in external camps on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to target vital facilities and spread terror.

As for the third cell arrested by Kuwaiti security forces, it was the assassination cell, which included 20 individuals trained in explosives and field surveillance with the aim of assassinating symbols and leaders of the Kuwaiti state in order to paralyze the pillars of political decision-making.

The Iranian scheme did not stop at the interior, but extended into the skies. Since the dawn of March 6, 2026, Kuwaiti air defenses confronted a wave of missile and drone attacks launched from the direction of Iran.

Despite intercepting 12 drones and 14 missiles, fragments from the aggression caused a humanitarian tragedy represented by the martyrdom of an 11-year-old Kuwaiti girl, in addition to the disruption of six major electricity lines and the targeting of the vicinity of Kuwait Airport and Ali Al Salem Air Base.

The matter did not stop there, as the threats reached the Al-Adairi area in the north of the country, where the Revolutionary Guard targeted a military training center in an attempt to intimidate Kuwaiti and allied forces.

The Financing Network of Revolutionary Guard Cells The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior revealed the dark side of financing Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah cells to destabilize Kuwait, as 24 individuals, including former parliamentarians, were detained on charges of financing these activities through religious and charitable fronts. These funds were the “fuel” driving Hezbollah cells.

In an attempt to whitewash these crimes, the Iranian media machine, through Tasnim News Agency, launched a disinformation campaign accusing Kuwait of violating neutrality and participating in aggression against Iran, in a blatant reversal of facts and portrayal of the victim as the aggressor.

The Ministry of Interior affirmed that Kuwait, under its wise leadership and vigilant agencies, will not be an open arena for violation.

The mobilization of State Security sectors and the armed forces, along with the pursuit of fugitive suspects, sends a clear message: “Kuwait’s security is a red line that cannot be crossed, and every hand extended with evil intent will be severed by the force of law and the determination of men.”

Observers affirm that the convergence of missile attacks with assassination cells and military infiltration operations in Bubiyan indicates a comprehensive regional scheme targeting not only Kuwait, but the entire Gulf Cooperation Council system, following the dismantling of similar cells in Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

Kuwait today stands as a barrier against the ambitions of the Revolutionary Guard, relying on the cohesion of its internal front and the vigilance of the protectors of the homeland.
