The Ahwaz issue is not for marginalization.. details of the preparatory statement of the Unified National Conference in Brussels.

At a pivotal moment in which the Middle East is undergoing, and amid the escalating pace of regional conflicts that have redrawn the map of alliances, the “Unified Ahwazi National Conference” has been announced to be held in the Belgian capital, Brussels, scheduled to begin on April 18, 2026. This conference comes as a strategic step aimed at breaking the barrier of international silence surrounding the Ahwazi cause and shedding light on the suffering of the Ahwazi people under current policies.

The official spokesperson for the Executive of the Arab State of Ahwaz, Abdullah Abdul Latif Al-Ahwazi, said that this conference does not come as a protocol event, but rather as a clear political outcry against attempts to erase the Arab identity of Ahwaz, and a firm message that the Ahwaz issue is no longer subject to neglect or marginalization.

Al-Ahwazi added, “The Ahwazi people, who have suffered for decades from repression, starvation, and demographic change, continue their legitimate struggle to fully restore their rights without diminution.”

Al-Ahwazi confirmed that the conference, in its preparatory literature, emphasizes that any attempts to circumvent the Ahwazi issue, or to dilute it through parties that do not recognize the Arab identity of Ahwaz and the rights of its people, are entirely rejected attempts, and will not be allowed to come at the expense of the sacrifices of the sons of Ahwaz.

The conference also called on Arab countries and the international community to assume their moral and political responsibilities, and to move from a stage of silence to a stage of active stance, by supporting the right of the Ahwazi people to self-determination and stopping the ongoing violations against them.

The conference stressed that Ahwazi unity is not an option but a necessity, and that the current stage requires clarity of positions and steadfastness in principles, away from any narrow calculations or external affiliations that diminish Ahwazi national decision-making.

The official spokesperson for the Executive of the Arab State of Ahwaz concluded by saying that Ahwaz is not a transient issue, but the issue of a living people who will accept nothing but freedom and dignity, and who will not give up their right no matter how long it takes.
