War silences school bells in Ahwaz as 133 educational institutions sustain damage
Media reports have revealed a serious deterioration in the education sector in Ahwaz, amid the continuation of Iranian policies that draw the region into its military conflicts, leading to school closures and depriving thousands of students of their right to education.
The reports indicated that classrooms have become completely empty of pupils, as the sounds of missiles and warplanes have replaced their laughter, in a scene that reflects the scale of suffering endured by residents as a result of Tehran’s military policies.
Sources confirmed that the Iranian occupation has entangled Ahwaz in its conflicts, resulting in the targeting of educational infrastructure.
Schools have been subjected to shelling and destruction, leading to casualties among students, including pupils from Minab School, in one of the most prominent crimes affecting the future of generations.
Students and teachers noted that the closure of schools has deprived them not only of education but also of their normal lives, as they have been forced to resort to remote learning under harsh psychological conditions, amid constant fear of military escalation.
In this context, students expressed their anger over the war that has deprived them of their schools and friends, stressing that what they are experiencing represents one of the worst periods of their lives.
Teachers, meanwhile, emphasized that they are striving to provide psychological support to students despite the significant challenges.
According to circulating information, 133 schools have been damaged as a result of military operations, in a clear indication of the scale of losses borne by civilians, particularly children, due to Iran’s policies in the region.
Activists believe that Tehran’s continued transformation of Ahwaz into a battleground for its regional conflicts threatens an entire generation with loss, amid the destruction of schools and the disruption of the educational process.
They stress that restoring normal life begins with halting these policies and keeping the region away from conflicts.
