“Literacy Spread Plan”… A significant shortage of teachers in Ahwaz with no action from the occupation
Recently, schools in Ahwaz have been experiencing a severe crisis due to a shortage of teachers, significantly affecting the quality of education and the educational process in the cities of Ahwaz. This is happening under the negligence of the Iranian occupation, which fails to direct more attention to education in Ahwaz compared to Persian cities.
Statistics indicate that there is an estimated shortage of about 70,000 new teachers, with the greatest shortage being in elementary schools, in addition to overcrowded classrooms with students.
The most significant issue is the lack of space for education in schools, a problem that is more evident in areas with a large number of students.
Children in these schools study in two shifts, and these schools are often located in the outskirts of cities and less fortunate areas.
Lack of Financial Resources:
Schools in Ahwaz face significant difficulties in securing the necessary financial resources for hiring and maintaining teachers. The tough economic conditions lead to a lack of funding for the education sector, making it difficult for schools to hire new teachers or retain current ones.
The education sector in Ahwaz also suffers from the migration of teachers to other areas that offer better job opportunities and more stable conditions.
The region loses qualified teachers due to the lack of suitable opportunities for them, exacerbating the crisis of a shortage in the educational staff.
Lack of Training and Development:
Some schools in Ahwaz lack effective programs for training teachers and developing their skills, which reduces the area’s attractiveness as a destination for professional teachers. Continuous training and professional development are essential for maintaining the quality of education and attracting qualified teachers.
The fluctuating political and security conditions in the region also affect the stability of the educational environment, causing many teachers to look for job opportunities in more stable and safer areas.
