
Trial of a Union Activist in the City of Sus
In recent days, a hearing was held for the trial of union activist Touran Soleimani Babadi in the city of Sus, located in northern Ahwaz. The session took place at the Fifth Branch of the Prosecutor’s Office under the Iranian occupation in Ahwaz.
Touran Soleimani is a well-known union activist in the field of education and resides in Sus. She was summoned to the prosecutor’s office after receiving a notice on March 8.
During the recent hearing, Soleimani defended herself against the charges brought against her, which included “propaganda against the Islamic Republic.” Despite these allegations, the session concluded with her release on bail of 200 million tomans.
According to the Coordinating Council of Teachers’ Unions, it was confirmed that the case is being handled by the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Khuzestan Province.
Soleimani is known for her advocacy on education-related issues and her demands for improved conditions for teachers. She has previously faced numerous pressures and arrests due to her union activities.
