The Executive Participation of the Ahwaz State at the European Parliament Conference: A Culmination of Years of Struggle and Political Efforts
The official participation of the delegation of the Executive Committee of the Ahwaz State, led by Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi, in a high-level conference organized by the European Parliament marks a pivotal moment and an international recognition of its ongoing efforts to serve the Ahwazi cause and defend the rights of the Ahwazi people in political and international forums over the years.
On Thursday, July 3, the European Parliament hosted a significant political conference at its headquarters in the Belgian capital, Brussels. The conference was attended by the delegation of the Executive Committee of the Ahwaz State, along with a distinguished group of European and international officials, aiming to discuss the future of Iran in the post-regime era in Tehran.
This conference came as a result of joint cooperation between members of the European Parliament and several international human rights organizations, amid growing interest in national issues and the rights of oppressed peoples within Iran.
The conference was chaired by Ms. Hilde Vautmans, Member of the European Parliament and head of foreign relations, with the participation of prominent political figures from various countries, giving the event a significant international dimension.
Discussions focused on the visions and aspirations of non-Persian peoples, especially the Ahwazi people, to build a just future based on political and cultural pluralism free from Persian central domination and the authoritarianism practiced by successive regimes, from the Shah to the Khomeinist regime.
The conference served as a high-level international platform that brought together Iranian opposition groups, representatives of non-Persian nations, European parliamentarians, and intellectual and human rights elites, at a time when the region is witnessing rapid transformations that compel the international community to reconsider the structure of the Iranian state and the fate of its diverse components.
Through this participation, the Executive Committee of the Ahwaz State demonstrated its ability to represent the Ahwazi people with a mature political voice and to present a realistic and coherent vision for Iran’s future one that is grounded in justice and the recognition of the rights of all peoples.
