The Arrest of Civil and Political Activist Nader Seifi in Al-Salihiyah

Iranian occupation authorities have arrested civil and political activist Nader Seifi in the city of Al-Salihiyah, northern Ahwaz, raising concerns for his life as his health deteriorates.

According to informed sources, officers informed Seifi’s wife that he would be transferred to Tehran following his arrest.

Last month, Iranian authorities summoned Seifi and interrogated him on charges of communicating with individuals affiliated with “sabotage groups,” leading to his questioning by the IRGC intelligence. However, he was later released on bail after a period of detention.

Nader Seifi is a well-known civil and political activist. He is married and has a daughter, which has heightened concerns among his family and relatives regarding his health and future following his re-arrest.

There is widespread concern about his uncertain fate amid the tense political situation in the country.

Human rights organizations are closely monitoring the situation, with growing fears that Seifi may face political persecution or torture if transferred to Tehran. Meanwhile, many local and international activists are calling for the protection of human rights and ensuring a fair trial for political activists in Iran.

Nader Seifi, originally from Dehloran and residing in Al-Salihiyah, northern Ahwaz, has become known in recent years as a media critic and online activist.

His re-arrest and the lack of transparency from security agencies regarding his case have increased his family’s and relatives’ concerns. This incident once again highlights the issue of arbitrary detentions and the lack of accountability for security officials.
