Yemeni delegation visits the Ahwaz national executive in Brussels: calls to unite efforts against iranian expansion
A Yemeni delegation visited the headquarters of the Ahwaz National Executive in the Belgian capital, Brussels, where a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Arif Al-Kaabi, head of the Executive Committee of the Arab State of Al-Ahwaz
The Yemeni delegation included Mr. Salmeen Ali Saleh, founder of the Cultural Center; Mr. Hamoud Dughshar; Sheikh Saddam Shareef; and professors Nasser Al-Awlaki and Omar Alyani, in addition to Counselor Mohammed Al-Shammari, President of the Euro-Arab Council for Cultural Diversity.
The discussions focused on key issues, most notably Iran’s interference in Arab countries and ways to counter what was described as the “Safavid expansion,” including Tehran’s support for its armed proxies in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon, and the resulting threats to international security and global navigation.
The situation in Ahwaz was also discussed, with emphasis on the suffering of the Ahwazi people under Iranian occupation and the ongoing violations that include the erasure of Arab identity and the arbitrary executions of activists and independence advocates.
Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi praised the prominent role of the Yemeni Cultural Center in supporting Arab causes, stressing its efforts to strengthen Arab solidarity in Europe and preserve the Arab cultural identity.
He emphasized the importance of continuing these efforts to build strong communication bridges between Arab institutions in Europe, in a way that enhances collective Arab solidarity and supports just Arab causes amid political and cultural challenges.
Al-Kaabi affirmed that Arab awareness is an essential component in confronting Iranian infiltration, calling for increased support for the Ahwazi people in their struggle against the Iranian occupation.
He noted that the Arab elite today is more aware of Iran’s schemes to undermine Arab national security through its armed proxies and cultural influence, pointing out that cultural confrontation is part of a broader strategy to resist these plans.
For his part, Mr. Salmeen Ali Saleh reaffirmed the deep-rooted Arab identity of Ahwaz, warning against Iranian attempts to erase this identity, and called for unified Arab efforts to support the Ahwazi people and preserve their heritage and culture.
Sheikh Saddam Shareef highlighted the deep historical and tribal ties between Ahwaz and Yemen, stressing that these relations form a solid foundation for Arab solidarity and strengthen joint efforts to confront the Iranian occupation and defend authentic Arab identity.
The participants agreed on the need to unify Arab efforts to support the Ahwazi people’s right to self-determination and to confront Iran’s expansionist project, which threatens Arab national security.
This meeting comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and coordinate positions among Arab activists and institutions in the diaspora, with the goal of supporting Arab causes and addressing shared challenges.
