Official Statement
The statement issued by the President of Ukraine regarding the necessity of striking Iran is a highly significant political position and must be taken with the utmost seriousness. It should not be dismissed as a passing remark or a momentary reaction, but rather understood as a position articulated by a head of state who possesses strategic foresight and direct experience in confronting state-sponsored terrorism.
The Ukrainian President speaks from a deep understanding of the nature of the Iranian regime, which has long relied on terrorism as an official instrument of policy. This regime has systematically exported its internal crises beyond its borders through armed militias, unlawful military interventions, and persistent efforts to destabilize states and undermine regional and international security.
With its well-documented record of internal repression, grave human rights violations, and aggressive expansionist policies, the Iranian regime no longer represents a threat limited to the peoples of the region alone. It has become a direct danger to international peace and security. In this context, the warning issued by the President of Ukraine reflects a realistic and informed assessment of the true nature of this regime and coincides with a growing awareness among world leaders that policies of appeasement and containment have only emboldened Tehran and led to further escalation and violence.
Accordingly, the international community is now called upon to engage seriously with such positions and to take firm and decisive measures to put an end to the aggressive policies of the Iranian regime. At the same time, it must support the oppressed peoples living under its rule, foremost among them the Arab Ahwazi people, who have endured decades of systematic repression, discrimination, and forced displacement.
True security and lasting stability will not be achieved as long as this regime continues to pursue a policy based on terrorism and interference. Any responsible approach to the future of the region and the world must therefore focus on confronting the roots of this threat, rather than merely addressing its consequences.
Dr. Aref Alkaabi
Head of the Executive Authority of the State of Ahwaz
