Meeting of Non-Persian Peoples Held in Brussels to Discuss Post-Regime Arrangements in Iran

A high-level meeting of representatives of non-Persian peoples was held at the headquarters of the State of Ahwaz Executive in Brussels, bringing together political figures, activists, and representatives of several national and ethnic communities from within Iran and the diaspora.

The meeting focused on coordination mechanisms and joint arrangements in anticipation of a potential collapse of the Iranian regime. Participants examined various scenarios that could follow such a development, with particular attention given to the political, administrative, security, and humanitarian challenges that may arise during a transitional period.

Speakers emphasized the necessity of early planning and collective action to avoid power vacuums, internal conflict, and instability. The discussions highlighted the importance of establishing inclusive transitional frameworks that respect the rights of all peoples and communities, ensure security, and lay the groundwork for democratic governance based on justice, equality, and self-determination.

A key point of discussion was the adoption of a confederal system, in which non-Persian peoples could cooperate and coordinate on common matters while retaining full sovereignty over their own affairs. This model was presented as an alternative to centralized or federal governance, allowing for a non-federal confederation that balances autonomy with collaboration and prevents domination by any single group.

Participants also addressed the role of non-Persian peoples in shaping the future of Iran, stressing that any political transformation must recognize their national, cultural, and linguistic rights. The meeting underlined the importance of creating a new political order that moves away from centralized authoritarian rule toward decentralized, representative, and confederal governance.
