General strike by workers of “Exir Industry” company at Abadan city refinery in Al-Ahwaz

Just hours before the Eid al-Fitr holiday, workers of “Exir Industry” company at Abadan city refinery in Al-Ahwaz entered into a general strike in protest of the Persian occupation officials’ failure to respond to their demands.

The workers of “Exir Industry” company at Abadan city refinery vacated the workshop in protest of the lack of attention by the concerned officials to their demands for union rights and salary increases.

The workers of the Elixir of Industry demanded an increase in wages according to their proposed list, based on an increase of 79%, in light of the high cost of living, the high prices, and the decline in the value of the Iranian currency.

The workers emphasized the continuation of the strike until the Persian occupation responds to their demands, noting that the strike is a legitimate right to face the injustice they face by the occupation officials.

Al-Ahwaz is witnessing strikes and protests by large groups of workers in the oil and gas sector, as well as in the sugar cane sector, and social security retirees, in protest against the poor economic conditions and the decline in the value of salaries in light of the high prices and high inflation.
