Extension of the Arrest Warrant for Ahwazi Poet and Activist Reza Hezbawi
The Karoon Human Rights Organization has reported that the Iranian occupation authorities in Ahvaz have extended the arrest warrant for Reza Hezbawi, an Ahwazi poet and civil activist.
According to the report, Reza Hezbawi, son of Ramadan, who was arrested by security forces at his home in Kut Abdullah on December 19, remains in an unstable condition, with his detention being repeatedly extended.
It is worth noting that the Iranian occupation authorities in Ahvaz have also leveled false charges against both Reza Hezbawi and Mostafa Haliji (a well-known Ahwazi poet), accusing them of “engaging in activities against the Islamic Republic” and “having foreign connections.”
Reports indicate that these two civil activists have been subjected to severe psychological and physical torture for over a month in detention centers affiliated with the Iranian occupation’s intelligence services.
The Karoon Human Rights Organization asserts that the repeated extensions of Reza Hezbawi’s arrest warrant and his ongoing detention constitute a clear violation of human rights and international law. The organization calls for his immediate and unconditional release.
