During the Executive Ahwaz Conference, Belgian Prime Minister’s Advisor: Iran Seeks to Destabilize Global Security
Mr. Kurt De Bouv, advisor to the Belgian Prime Minister, delivered a significant speech during an international conference addressing security and peace issues in the Middle East. He emphasized the importance of global security and the negative role Iran plays in destabilizing international stability through its ongoing interference in the affairs of other nations.
In his address, De Bouv highlighted that Iran continues to violate the national sovereignty of neighboring countries by supporting armed groups and engaging in military and political interventions, fueling conflicts and weakening regional stability.
He urged the international community to take a firm stance against these interventions, which threaten global security and peace.
Additionally, De Bouv called on the international community to support the aspirations of the Ahwazi people, asserting that their struggle aligns with international human rights principles, including the right of peoples to self-determination.
The Belgian Prime Minister’s advisor stressed that supporting these aspirations is a humanitarian and moral obligation that the international community must uphold.
This statement was made during a conference organized by the Executive Body of the State of Ahwaz, in collaboration with the European International Organization for Development and Human Rights in Germany, the Arab-European Center for Human Rights in Brussels, and the Rafidain Center for Justice in Switzerland. The conference was held on **February 7** in Germany.
The conference discussed key issues related to security and peace in the Middle East, focusing on Iranian interventions and their threats to regional stability, as well as their negative impact on development and peace in the region.
It shed light on Iran’s role in destabilization through its support for terrorist groups and military and political interference, particularly in the Arab state of Ahwaz, which continues to suffer from ongoing human rights violations by Iranian authorities. Participants also examined Iranian crimes against the peoples of the region, especially in Arab countries, with a focus on the crimes committed against the Ahwazi people.
Furthermore, the conference explored the experiences of Arab countries in countering Iranian interventions and discussed ways to confront Iran’s threats to regional security and stability. Experts exchanged insights and best practices to address Iran’s growing threats, enhance Arab cooperation in combating terrorism, and support human rights.
The event gathered a distinguished group of decision-makers, researchers, and academics from various Arab and international countries, in addition to representatives of non-Persian ethnic groups within Iran. Notable attendees included the Secretary-General of the Baluchi National Solidarity Party and his accompanying delegation, the head of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Center and his delegation, as well as Ms. Fariba Mohammadi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Kurdish Komala Party, along with her delegation.
This conference marks an important step in shedding light on Iran’s continuous violations in the region, strengthening international efforts to support oppressed peoples, and ensuring security and stability in the Middle East.
