the European Parliament, has raised concerns about a woman in Iran who died after being stopped for allegedly breaking hijab rules.
President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola called on the authorities to punish those responsible.
,”The daughters of Iran are rising up to demand equality, respect for their rights and freedoms, an end to oppression. It’s the brave, young women leading the charg.and “From the European Parliament, I want to tell you that you are not alone.” Metsola added.
Mahsa Amini, 22, was detained by Iran’s morality police for “unsuitable attire” last week and later died after falling into a coma.
Her woman’s death has ignited demonstrations across the country, including the capital, Tehran, where demonstrators chanted against the government and clashed with police.
