Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi, the Executive President of the Arab State of Ahwaz, exposed the extensive human rights violations committed by the Persian occupation, along with the persistence of its policy of repression and environmental threats.
During a conference held by the International European Agency for Sustainable Development and Human Rights in Germany, Al-Kaabi discussed the transgressions of the Persian occupation and the ongoing campaign of arrests and torture against the Arabs of Ahwaz, who are engaged in a struggle against the occupation and its policies in the region.
The Executive President of Ahwaz emphasized that the Persian occupation conducts continuous repression operations against the Arabs of Ahwaz by inventing various accusations and fabricating false charges against activists working for the freedom of Ahwaz.
He clarified that a significant number of Ahwazis, including women and underage children, were imprisoned by the Persian occupation, subjected to false accusations, and endured severe torture inflicted by the occupying forces.
Al-Kaabi provided examples of violations committed by the Persian authorities in Ahwaz, including the arrest and execution of Habib Farajallah Al-Kaabi, a Swedish citizen from Ahwaz, also known as Habib Issioud, who was fighting for the freedom of his country and the end of the Persian occupation. The occupation authorities abducted him in Turkey, falsely accused him, and swiftly executed him without a proper trial, indicating that the judicial system under occupation is used as a tool to eliminate freedom activists and suppress and kill dissenters under the guise of justice.
The Executive President of Ahwaz emphasized the deterioration of infrastructure in Ahwaz, despite the vast wealth of oil, gas, water, and agricultural resources that the Arab state possesses under occupation, which should have made it a true gem of the East. Nevertheless, the occupation continues to seize Ahwaz’s resources to finance operations and terrorist groups in the Middle East and around the world, with Tehran’s authorities playing a central role in this support.
Furthermore, during his participation in the conference of the International European Agency for Sustainable Development and Human Rights in Germany, Al-Kaabi concisely outlined the efforts to Persianize Ahwaz. These initiatives aim to deprive the Arabs of Ahwaz of access to their institutions and alter Ahwaz’s Arab identity by prohibiting the use of Arab names and renaming Arab cities with Persian names.
One of the most serious issues is the suppression and censorship of the specific Arab culture of the Ahwazi people, which constitutes a blatant violation of international law and the International Charter of Human Rights, as stated by Al-Kaabi during the international conference.
Al-Kaabi informed the International European Agency of violations committed by the Persian occupation, including the deterioration of the environment in Ahwaz due to the construction of dams, the diversion of rivers to Persian regions, chaotic oil extraction, deliberate destruction of Ahwaz’s forests, and the drying up of marshes, which play a crucial role in Ahwaz’s environmental balance.
He also called on international human rights organizations and international institutions to visit Ahwaz’s prisons and the Arab State of Ahwaz to investigate human rights violations committed by the Persian occupation and to put an end to the suppression of Ahwazi identity expression and ethnic discrimination in employment and movement.
Al-Kaabi concluded by expressing his deep gratitude to the organizers of the conference of the International European Agency for Sustainable Development and Human Rights for providing the Ahwaz Executive with the opportunity to present a comprehensive overview of violations committed by the Persian occupation in Ahwaz. He also expressed hope for fruitful cooperation between the Ahwaz Executive and the European Agency to support and protect the Arab people of Ahwaz against the violations of the Persian occupation.
