Arrest of Labor Activist Tareq Al-Kaabi in Ahwaz
Human rights sources have expressed concern for the life of Ahwazi labor activist Tareq Al-Kaabi, an employee at the Saba’at Atlal Sugarcane Company, following his arrest by the Iranian occupation authorities 23 days ago.
According to these sources, no information has been available regarding Tareq Al-Kaabi’s whereabouts since his arrest. The lack of updates on his condition has heightened the fears of his family and relatives.
On January 8, while on his way to work at the sugar company, Tareq Al-Kaabi was arrested by agents of the Iranian occupation’s intelligence services.
As of the time of this report, no details have been provided regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges against him.
Tareq Al-Kaabi, 29 years old, is a resident of the city of Sus in northern Ahwaz. He is an employee at the Saba’at Atlal Sugarcane Company and the brother of Maher Al-Kaabi, a former political prisoner, and Ahmed Al-Kaabi, who is currently imprisoned in Kerman Central Prison.
