Amid a warm popular reception… A High-level ahwazi delegation visits damascus and meets with syrian officials

A high-level delegation from the State of Arab Ahwaz arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus, where it received a grand welcome at Damascus International Airport.

The visit comes as part of the growing diplomatic efforts to expand international recognition of the Ahwazi cause.

The distinguished delegation is headed by Dr. Arif Al-Kaabi, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the State of Ahwaz.

During its visit, the Ahwazi delegation is expected to meet with several ministers of the new Syrian government, as Syria is currently experiencing a new transitional phase under the leadership of President Ahmad Al-Shar’a. This presents new opportunities for the Ahwazi cause.

The central focus of the Ahwazi delegation’s visit is to prepare for the opening of an official office for the Executive Committee of the State of Ahwaz in Damascus.

This office will serve as a link between the Ahwazi leadership and the Syrian state, aiming to strengthen political, economic, and cultural relations between the two sides.

The office will also work to coordinate and consult with Syrian counterparts on common issues and to enhance cooperation among Arab peoples in confronting the growing Iranian influence in the region.

This step is considered part of a broader strategy adopted by the Executive Committee of the State of Ahwaz to expand international support for its just cause.

Similar offices were previously opened in the Belgian capital, Brussels, in 2021, and in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, in 2024.

In earlier statements, Dr. Al-Kaabi affirmed that these offices represent “the nucleus of the Ahwazi people’s aspirations” to establish their independent state and contribute to advancing the Ahwazi cause toward internationalization and securing the necessary international recognition.

Damascus has recently witnessed popular movements in support of the Ahwazi cause, welcoming the opening of an Ahwazi office in the Syrian capital.

The Ahwazi delegation also seeks to brief the Syrian leadership on the Iranian violations against the Ahwazi people and to expose the reality of the Iranian regime as an occupying power that drains Ahwaz’s resources to fund terrorist groups and militias in the region.

Through this office, the Ahwazi Executive Committee also aims to strengthen Arab solidarity with the Ahwazi cause and to work toward including the Ahwazi issue within the priorities of Arab national security, considering it a matter that goes beyond geographical boundaries to become an outstanding humanitarian and human rights cause.

This historic visit represents a significant step in the Ahwazi struggle for freedom and independence.

It reaffirms the increasingly international dimension of the Ahwazi cause and the growing attention it receives at various official and popular levels in the region and across the world.
