Al-Kaabi: Iranian intervention in Sudan intensifies the war and deepens the humanitarian crisis
Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi, President of the Executive Committee of the State of Ahwaz, affirmed that Iran’s involvement in the ongoing civil war in Sudan is a major factor contributing to the escalation of the military and political situation in the country.
Al-Kaabi explained that the Iranian leadership in Tehran has sought to expand its influence by supporting one of the warring parties with weapons and technology particularly drones which has fueled violence and intensified clashes at the expense of civilians.
He added that this support, which included providing the backed faction with advanced military equipment, has led to significant civilian casualties among innocent Sudanese, further deepening the humanitarian crisis and hindering any serious efforts at de-escalation.
According to Al-Kaabi, Iran’s role goes beyond logistical support and represents a strategic threat that could turn Sudan into a regional proxy battlefield.
His warnings indicated that Iran’s presence in the conflict threatens the stability of the region and prolongs the war, cautioning that Sudan and the peoples of the region may pay a heavy price if this intervention continues.
