The headquarters of the Executive Committee of the Arab State of Ahwaz in Brussels recently hosted an important visit from a high-level delegation from Bamako, led by former Malian Prime Minister Mohamed Ag Ahmedou and former Minister of Communications Mohamed Ibrahim Ag Khama. During the visit, the Malian delegation discussed the current plight of the Ahwazi people under Iranian occupation, highlighting the suffering they have endured since 1925.
The visiting delegation engaged in discussions with Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi, head of the Ahwaz Executive Committee, on the relationship between the Executive Committee and the Malian government, exploring ways to promote international recognition of the Ahwazi people’s struggle. The meeting also reviewed the oppression and persecution faced by the Ahwazi people under Iranian occupation.
The Malian delegation expressed their full solidarity with the Ahwazi people, drawing a parallel between the situation in Ahwaz and the era of apartheid in South Africa. They praised the Ahwazi people’s fight for freedom, comparing it to the struggle led by renowned African leader Nelson Mandela.
The delegation pledged to make every effort to amplify the voice of the Ahwazi people in international forums, especially at the upcoming African summit.
