Report Reveals Vision for Post-Regime Iran: Al-Kaabi Emphasizes Role of Non-Persian Groups

In a report published by Fox News titled “Here’s What a Post-Ayatollah Iran Could Look Like if War with Israel Leads to Regime’s Fall,” the spotlight was placed on the future of Iran’s non-Persian ethnic groups such as the Ahwazi Arabs, Baloch, Azeris, and Kurds should the Iranian regime collapse.

In this context, Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi, head of the Executive Committee of the Arab State of Ahwaz, stated that real change in Iran would not be possible without building trust between these ethnic groups and the Persian opposition.

Al-Kaabi said: “In my view, the fall of the Iranian regime could happen if several conditions are met chief among them the continuation of Israeli strikes, support for non-Persian components, genuine international will, and building trust between Arabs, Kurds, Baloch, and Azeris on one side, and the Persian opposition on the other.”

He added, “If these conditions are in place, the regime’s collapse would only take a matter of days.”

Al-Kaabi also pointed out that in recent days, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard launched a wide-scale arrest campaign in Ahwaz in an attempt to prevent any popular movement, confirming that most of those detained are Arabs from the regions of Abadan, Bushehr, Sheyban, and Shoaibiya.

He criticized the stance of the Persian opposition abroad, saying: “They view us Arabs, Kurds, Azeris, and Baloch as mere separatists and refuse to cooperate with us. This stubbornness is one of the main reasons the Iranian regime has remained in power until now.”
