On the Centennial of Ahwaz’s Occupation: Arrest of Brothers Mohammad and Abdulmalik Heidari
Ahwazi sources have confirmed the continued wave of widespread arrests targeting political activists and journalists in the region. Early this morning, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s intelligence forces arrested brothers Mohammad Heidari (34 years old) and Abdulmalik Heidari (46 years old) in the Malashiya area of Ahwaz city.
These arrests coincide with the centennial anniversary of Iran’s occupation of Ahwaz.
The detention of the Heidari brothers is part of a broader crackdown targeting anyone expressing opposition to the Iranian occupation.
Mohammad and Abdulmalik are the brothers of the late martyr Emad Heidari, who was arrested during the popular uprising in 2022. Emad was executed two weeks later following severe torture in solitary confinement at the hands of Iranian intelligence forces.
The Iranian occupation authorities continue to suppress voices calling for freedom and justice. On this symbolic centennial anniversary, the regime appears intent on consolidating its control through new waves of arrests.
