Iranian intelligence arrests Ahwazi Activist fares kaab karam allah in Toster

In the early hours of October 7, 2025, Iranian intelligence forces carried out a raid targeting the home of Ahwazi cultural activist Fares Kaab Karam Allah in the city of Toster, Ahwaz. He was arrested in what human rights sources described as a blatant violation of both domestic laws and international human rights standards.

According to eyewitnesses, an armed unit from the intelligence agency stormed the house at dawn without presenting any judicial warrant. They reportedly used intimidating tactics that spread fear among his family members, including women and children, before taking him to an undisclosed location.

So far, Iranian authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his arrest or his place of detention, raising growing concerns about his physical and psychological safety.

Fares Kaab Karam Allah is known as one of the most prominent cultural activists in Toster, recognized for his efforts to revive Ahwazi Arab heritage and organize cultural events aimed at preserving Arab identity. These activities have made him a frequent target of persecution and harassment by Iranian authorities.

This incident is part of a long series of violations committed by Iran against the Ahwazi people for over a century. Security agencies continue to carry out arbitrary arrests of activists and intellectuals, alongside policies of repression, marginalization, and ethnic discrimination designed to erase the Arab identity in Ahwaz.

Human rights organizations have called for the immediate release of the activist and urged respect for human rights and freedom of expression, stressing that the continuation of such practices reflects a systematic policy of oppression aimed at silencing voices demanding the legitimate rights of the Ahwazi Arab people.
