In the british parliament… Al-Kaabi affirms that britain can resolve the Ahwazi issue
The President of the Executive of the State of Ahwaz, Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi, delivered a message of thanks at the beginning of his speech during a meeting held at the British Parliament.
He praised Lord Jackson for hosting the event and also thanked the attendees for their interest in the Ahwazi issue.
In his speech, Al-Kaabi focused on the suffering of the Arab Ahwazi people and the necessity for the British government and the international community to support their legitimate right to self-determination.
Al-Kaabi told the assembly that the Ahwazi delegation consists of the descendants of Arab Ahwazi leaders, emphasizing that they do not seek to hold the past accountable, but rather to convey the voice of a people who have suffered since 1925 the year that coincided with Britain’s withdrawal from the region and the subsequent subjugation of Ahwaz under Iranian control.
Al-Kaabi pointed out that Britain has always had, and still has, a “long arm” in the region, stressing that the purpose of attending the meeting was to open a window of communication with British authorities to revive attention to the plight of the Ahwazi people, who have been left alone in the face of Iranian repression that has continued from the era of Reza Shah Pahlavi until today.
The President of the Executive of Ahwaz called for justice for the Ahwazi people, first from Britain and then from the international community.
Al-Kaabi highlighted the legacy of Emir Sheikh Khaz’al Al-Kaabi, the last ruler of Ahwaz, and the historical relationship he had with Britain, emphasizing that the Ahwazi people continue their struggle to regain their freedom and dignity.
He affirmed that Britain, as the “mother of democracy and mother of justice,” is the party capable of finding a solution to a question that has persisted for over a century.
Al-Kaabi added that the Ahwazis have the ability to defend themselves and liberate their land, but they prefer to achieve their rights through lawful and peaceful means to preserve regional security and stability.
At the conclusion of his speech, Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi delivered an official letter to Lord Jackson on behalf of the Arab Ahwazi people, requesting that the British legislative and executive authorities “open a window” to observe what is happening in Ahwaz and support the aspirations of its people for freedom and justice.
