Al-Kaabi from the European Parliament: There Is No Future for Iran Without Recognizing the Rights of the Ahwazi People
In a powerful speech delivered inside the halls of the European Parliament in the Belgian capital, Brussels, Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi, President of the Executive Committee of the Arab State of Ahwaz, made clear statements about Iran’s future after the fall of the current regime.
He affirmed that any future political vision must begin with recognizing the rights of non-Persian peoples, especially the Ahwazi people.
Dr. Al-Kaabi’s address came during a high-level political conference organized by the European Parliament on Thursday, July 3, attended by several European MPs and international figures from various political and diplomatic backgrounds.
The event aimed to discuss the future of Iran and the potential alternatives following the collapse of the Iranian regime.
He began his speech by emphasizing that the Ahwazi people firmly support regional stability, warning against attempts by some parties to exploit the post-regime period to spread chaos and repeat the oppressive scenarios of the past.
He pointed out that the Ahwazi people have long suffered from deprivation and the stripping of their national and historical rights under successive regimes in Iran from the Pahlavi era to Khomeini without ever gaining recognition of their cultural, political, or economic rights.
Dr. Al-Kaabi stressed that the future cannot be built on the ruins of the past. He called on the Persian opposition to assume its historical responsibility and to abandon totalitarian systems that perpetuate injustice and tyranny under any political guise.
He concluded his remarks by asserting that freedom, pluralism, and respect for national diversity are not temporary slogans, but must be the foundational principles of any genuine transitional phase.
Dr. Al-Kaabi’s speech was widely praised by members of the European Parliament, who described it as “responsible and balanced,” and commended its political clarity and its ability to present a realistic alternative that reflects the aspirations of oppressed peoples within Iran.
It is worth noting that Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi has spent years tirelessly working to bring the voice of the Ahwazi people to international forums.
He has made consistent efforts to internationalize the Ahwazi cause and build a strong network of international relations, which has enabled him to deliver the Ahwazi message clearly to decision-makers around the world reflecting his deep commitment to serving his people and their just cause.
