Al-Kaabi Discusses Systematic Violations Against Ahwazis with the European International Development Organization
The President of the Executive Council of the State of Ahwaz, Dr. Aref Al-Kaabi, received today at the Executive Headquarters an international delegation that included the President of the European International Development and Human Rights Organization in Germany, Ahmed Al-Ahmad, and Syrian academic Dr. Awad Jassim Al-Jadi. This meeting was part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the continuous human rights violations in Ahwaz.
During the meeting, Al-Kaabi, Al-Ahmad, and Al-Jadi discussed the deteriorating human rights situation in Ahwaz. The participants highlighted the systematic abuses faced by prisoners in Iranian Revolutionary Guard-run prisons, which include torture, denial of medical care, and arbitrary executions.
The meeting also shed light on the ethnic persecution faced by the Arab Ahwazi people, who experience systematic discrimination in all political, economic, and cultural fields.
For his part, Ahmed Al-Ahmad reaffirmed the European Human Rights Organization’s support for the Ahwazi cause, vowing to make every effort to expose the grave violations committed by the Iranian authorities against the Ahwazi people and to bring their voice to international forums.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the participating parties, aiming to strengthen joint cooperation in defending human rights in Ahwaz and providing the necessary support for the Ahwazi people in their rightful struggle to reclaim their legitimate rights.
