The Executive Council of the State of Ahwaz Commends Ukraine’s Role in Supporting the Ahwazi Cause
Ukraine has officially recognized the Ahwazi Liaison Office in Ukraine, marking a significant achievement in the Executive Council’s ongoing efforts to defend the rights of the Ahwazi people and amplify their voice on the international stage.
In this context, Ahmad Al-Tarfi, Head of the Media and Liaison Committee, extended his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the government and people of Ukraine for this recognition, describing it as a milestone in fostering cooperation between Ahwaz and Ukraine.
Al-Tarfi emphasized that this move represents an important step in strengthening bilateral relations, significantly contributing to raising awareness of the Ahwazi people’s plight in various international forums.
He also praised the generous efforts of the Ukrainian government, led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in supporting the Ahwazi cause and granting formal recognition to the Executive Council’s office.
Al-Tarfi stated that this recognition enhances collaboration between the two sides across various fields and represents a crucial step in confronting Iranian occupation, which threatens both the Ahwazi and Ukrainian peoples, especially given Tehran’s support for Russia in its war against Ukraine.
He further highlighted that the establishment of the Ahwazi Liaison Office in Ukraine will play a pivotal role in raising international awareness of the Ahwazi cause, marking a significant step in the Executive Council’s mission to convey the legitimate rights and struggles of the Ahwazi people to European and global institutions.
Al-Tarfi affirmed that this recognition signifies a vital development in the strategy of the Executive Council of the State of Ahwaz, aiming to secure international recognition for the rights of the Ahwazi people and strengthen their presence in international organizations, continuing their fight for freedom and dignity.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian government officially approved the Ahwazi Liaison Office, both legally and politically, on Wednesday, November 14, 2024.
Ukraine’s recognition, as a friendly nation to the Ahwazi people, is the second of its kind after Belgium, which had previously recognized the Executive Council of the State of Ahwaz as the legitimate representative of the Arab Ahwazi people.
This achievement reflects the Ahwazi people’s unwavering commitment to securing international recognition and reinforces their persistent efforts to defend their legitimate rights.
