Corruption and plundering by the Iranian occupation of the city of Masjed Soleyman

The situation you describe reflects a tragic condition faced by the residents of Masjed Soleyman under Iranian administration, with escalating infrastructure problems and financial corruption. The issues raised, such as the deterioration of infrastructure, lack of clean water, health problems resulting from environmental pollution, and the increasing risk of fires and explosions due to the proximity of oil wells, highlight the neglect and mismanagement by the occupying Iranian authorities. This neglect has turned Masjed Soleyman, once a pioneering city in the oil industry and infrastructure development in the Middle East at the beginning of the 20th century, into a marginalized city facing high unemployment rates and significant public health and environmental challenges.

In the recent decades, with the continuous policy of marginalization by the Iranian occupation of the Arab Ahwaz state cities, Masjed Soleyman has suffered from deficiency, corruption, and crimes against the city’s wealth committed by the Iranian authorities, leading to its transformation into a marginalized city. As a result, unemployment rates in the city have become among the highest in the Ahwaz cities.

In recent years, the general condition of the city has horrifyingly deteriorated, where residents today face enormous challenges related to crumbling infrastructure. Water supply problems have worsened, with many residents in different areas suffering from a severe shortage of clean water, and sewage problems are increasing, negatively impacting the public health of residents and the surrounding environment.

Masjed Soleyman is suffering from environmental pollution due to scattered oil and gas, leading to the spread of lung and respiratory diseases among residents. Additionally, the risk of fires and explosions threatens residents’ homes, especially with numerous oil wells within the city’s limits.

Despite the availability of the first sewage network in Masjed Soleyman, it has not expanded with the growing population, causing increased sewage disposal problems and their negative impact on residents’ health. Many areas of Masjed Soleyman also suffer from a lack of water supplies, further adding to the residents’ suffering.

Moreover, Masjed Soleyman is experiencing a collapse in roads and bridges, affecting traffic movement and increasing the risk of accidents. Authorities face enormous challenges in maintenance and modernization due to a lack of funding and resources.

Local residents indicate that the collapse in the infrastructure networks of Masjed Soleyman embodies the neglect by the Iranian occupying authorities that has long affected this historic city. They demand urgent action to improve the infrastructure and meet the pressing needs of the population.

About 32 years ago, during Hashemi Rafsanjani’s second presidential term, the World Bank allocated a $150 million loan to build a sewage network in the urban areas of Ahwaz.

Since then, the Revolutionary Guard’s terrorist militias have embezzled funds from the World Bank and millions of Tomans in other plans and programs, contributing to the completion of the sewage project in Ahwaz.
